Okay, I know about advertising and stuff. But seriously: how is Yahoo! Answers staying afloat? I mean, Answers gets 5 points every time someone asks a question. Then, each time someone answers, Yahoo! gives out 2 points. So, if three people answer any given question, Yahoo! is already down one point. Then, the asker can choose and award the best answer 10 additional points. Or even worse, they can put it up for voting, forcing Yahoo! to dole out 1 point each time someone votes! And when the asker chooses a best answer, they get 3 points! So even if only one person answers a question, and the asker selects that as the best answer, Yahoo! comes out of the deal with 0 points gained.

And, this doesn’t even mention the 100 points Yahoo! awards to every web surfer who didn’t do his homework and every robot selling the acai berry, and the 1 additional point awarded each time everybody logs in.

Can somebody please tell me how Yahoo! Answers hasn’t gone under?
